The 40th anniversary of Prince and the Revolution releasing Around The World In A Day LP. So, 40 years ago, 13 year old me was having his mind somewhat blown by a much stranger and more out there LP than the Purple Rain 2 he'd been expecting.
A pivotal record for me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=56Hv...

Dr Who was fun, I laughed at the jokes, loved the Flash Gordon aesthetics and Belinda was great. I wish they'd actually called it Planet of the Incels as I'd love to see that on the Target novel cover.
All in all, I had a good escapist time for 45 minutes and God knows that's what's needed now.

Absolutely. Greatest Dr Who Cliffhanger Of All Time.
Doctor Who: The Caves of Androzani - Part Three (15th March 1984). Now that's what I call a cliffhanger.

If you're in need of some mental fightback and rejuvenation following today's opening salvo of almighty JFCness, I recommend playing Alexander Von Schlippenbach's 1966 Globe Unity LP at thunderous volume. It helps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBg8...

Today, darkness shall descend and the coming week looks very much like something to get to the other side of. I'm hunkering down with my tribute rewatch of Twin Peaks The Return (truly extraordinary still, a masterpiece) and looking forward to the Bohman Brothers brightening my life on Sunday.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

I've watched the last episode of Blake's 7 goodness knows how many times and I still find it stunning and gutwrenching. From the "it wasn't on Earth, Tarrant, not what happened to me" line onwards, I'm still watching in horror at what happens next 43 years later.
On this day in 1981, the 52nd and final episode of Blakes 7 (Blake) was originally broadcast.

Hmmm, I'm not sure the whole Bluesky thing is working for me, at least I don't seem to be able to generate any dialogues. Maybe I'm just plain dull. Still, no Temu ads.

I love The War Games. All ten episodes of it. T Dicks & M Hulke creating Dr Who lore across over 4 hours without feeling padded out at all. I can see why they've done this but I'll stick with the original. #doctorwho scifibulletin.com/2024/11/23/d...
