Silence Suzuka's career writing made me tear up. Knowing the history of the IRL horse can really enhance the experience and immerse you further.
The writing in this game is excellent and we've only had a taste of it in Global. From what I've heard, the writing only gets better from here on out.

Umamusume is so much fun! I love the stories. Rice Shower is my favorite, she is that little sister you can't help but cheer on and help chase her dreams! I also like Nice Nature, and Daiwa Scarlet and Vodka have such a great relationship as rivals and friends. I've been having a very fun time!

Bonus answer: The storyline of "Genshin Impact"'s Kamisato Ayaka, which also has similar echoes, resonates with me for the same reasons. Having to juggle the act of being the perfect maiden, leader of a faction, and being able to actually *enjoy* things - it was a great storyline.
