Working on a little something with a mathematician and it is EXTREMELY distressing when they add jokes that are better than yours. Reminds me of the time I met Max Tegmark, the esteemed physicist, and he looks like a Swedish supermodel. (Later in the thread…) Slightly more controversial: I think Great Men can be, to some extent, produced, whereas complex economics systems are harder to come by. E.g. the USSR had many many great physicists and mathematicians, but didn't invent any of the really important 20th century info/ computing tech.
