I am not an ALP member or a member of any party, for that matter. I voted green at the last election. That does not stop me from wishing the Greens could find a more effective approach than their current one, which delivered them a walloping in the Reps at the '25 election.

One seat in the House of Reps is not a viable position. I will let their incessant whining and unwillingness to concede ground, other than conceding seats in parliament, speak for itself. I would like them to be a viable third alternative, not an obstacle to the conduct of government.

The fish stinks from the head down. Albanese is a shocker as is the rest of @australianlabor.bsky.social If only @greens.org.au were a mature, pragmatic and viable alternative. Sadly they prefer ideological purity over achieving change.

@albomp.bsky.social has been a total disappointment. He has the capacity, and had the goodwill to do a lot. So he panders to mining companies and genocidal regimes.

You are being America, the failed great experiment. A society that is more focused on individual liberty than the common good is bound to fail once the gap between those who have more and those who have less widens. The problem is that the proletariat probably can not revolt itself out of this.

The @greens.org.au come across as whiney and their policy absolutism does not help. They need to learn how to be pragmatic without abandoning their values.

What could go wrong?🤔

The current administration notwithstanding America has done a better job in many ways at caring for their veterans. Australia is still trying to figure it out, even after a Royal Commission.
November 12, 2025 at 12:58 AM
I get your point. America calls it Veterans Day and places the focus on the veteran rather than the historical event. Australia historically has focussed more on the event than the veterans. As a veteran I am not fussed either way. War is shit and veterans need to be acknowledged./

Well if it is the National Miners Party you could through the current ALP crew in as well. Few Australian MPs are interested in anything other than donor cash.
November 12, 2025 at 12:51 AM
While doing so, we need to ensure that the feckless @albomp.bsky.social is replaced by a leader who leads and uses their position for the good of the country rather than to the benefit of miners and fascist regimes. Let's hope @greens.org.au grow up a bit and recover some seats. #auspol

I am not he will leave the rest of us alone. He will find some country to pick on as a distraction, and the worse things get domestically for him, the harder Trump will go against somewhere else. Venezuala will be the first to experience this.

Absolutely!
November 11, 2025 at 12:52 AM
I guess it is over then. The House will cave as the Senate did.

Please understand I am asking out of genuine, respectful interest. What is a vegan's line in the sand for animal cruelty? Do the insects, grubs, and soil biota that are unavoidably killed in the production of food count? Is it determined by definitions of sentience?

Never stand between a Labor MP and a brown paper bag.

Whilever the Dems in America remain beholden to yesterday's people, they will struggle to win. Hopefully, Pelosi's retirement will trigger a comprehensive renewal. Yes, @australianlabor.bsky.social risks the same problem.
