I have been happily running Linux for my whole workload (VR and Fortnite aside) for years now.

Gentoo sits at the spotlight in my setup with a dedicated PCI-E 4.0 m.2, Windows 11 is relegated to a fossil SATA SSD.

Even gaming is great, CP 2077 with RT Ultra at 1440p + 100's of Mods runs great!

Windows being 'the' default way of computing, and 'for' the 'everyday' user is such a tired old narrative.

Alternatives such as Linux, and macOS, are sometimes criticized for not doing things 'the right way', or having a learning curve.

PC's existed long before Windows, Windows is just software.

I thought I would share a little useful tip, if anyone is playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a RX 6000+ card, the Radeon Raytracing Refined config file from Nexus may be worth checking out, Ray-Tracing on Ultra now gets around the same Average FPS as I used to get on Medium before adding in the config, YMMV.

I emerged oLlama (and dependencies, including AMD ROCm) on my Gentoo PC just for the sake of it, I can now experiment with LLM's locally and privately!

Wild times we live in for sure, going from the venerable electronic calculator in the 60's, to running LLM's at home, in less than 100 years!

Just spent around 16+ hours between setup, configuration and compilation times getting Gentoo Linux + KDE 6 up and running on my gaming rig. 🎮

So far I am really impressed with the results, I used Cyberpunk 2077's benchmark to see if my video drivers were set up correctly. 🔥

This to better suit my tastes, but while remaining faithful to the original aesthetic, kudos to the Garuda Linux Team! 🔥
