It depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for long term generalization then it is noisy and looks far more impressive than it really is. If you are looking to pick apart events that caused change then this level of zoom is useful.

Sure. My bigger complaint is zooming in the X axis to absurd levels.

12% in 45 years. That X axis choice makes it look impressive though.

Using them for networking configs is even worse.

If these places do not meet the definition then congress needs to change the definition. This has gone on long enough.

What is 'doing something' at the end of the day anyway? Suppose your dementia ridden father gets lung cancer? Do you put him through cancer treatment that he absolutely doesn't even understand? I have been there myself. There are absolutely no good options and no good answers.

Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Mississippi Power, all Southern Company.

Southern Company is a scourge and should be broken up.

They are also suffering from shrinkflation in that they are awful and the creativity and enjoyment received from them has been declining for years.

So now prices will fall right?

Except if you get it wrong you are worse off. Then they get pissy that you didnt file quarterly estimates. This whole system is beyond stupid.

I think circumstances were a wee bit different back then given that no mechanisms existed to decompose lignin.

I listened and I thought he never really answered the question about how many of the li batteries they were doing and you moved on when he didnt answer after you pressed. I find it pretty unlikely that his company is getting 80% of the used phones and random 18650 batteries.

Arson doesnt seem like the solution to the loneliness crises.

I just bought panels to DIY install and those alone were $0.26/W. Doing all the work myself I will still be over $1 per watt in US.

This man looks remarkably like the old man from the original Home Alone movie.

You are trying to save people from dying in fire at the expense of people that can't even begin to afford to have a home in your jurisdiction. Potential residents dont get any representation. What good are sprinklers if you are homeless?
October 1, 2025 at 5:30 PM
And the low supply is caused by what? Zoning and expensive regulations on building. We have got to somehow get to a place where it isn't so difficult and expensive to build. If the demand is so high then it should be profitable to build things.

They do pay in their rents and their modification costs. They pay because then they might not do desired improvements due to the cost of adding sprinklers. It may cost property tax revenue that would have been assessed with the improved properties. This further increases cost of living.
October 1, 2025 at 4:41 PM
All of that is completely understandable and it is probably even worth it in terms of human lives. But saying this stuff has no cost to your constituents isnt being completely honest. You could see if the property insurers would lower their rates in exchange for the sprinklers and make it a wash.
October 1, 2025 at 4:24 PM
I have no idea why you think that money is different to the owner of the property. The state in this case is still mandating an expenditure by a tax payer. Its just being cute with your terms. The result is the same, it is a forced tax in effect hiding as a 'reasonable regulation'.
October 1, 2025 at 1:52 PM
Im confused. Do the owners of the properties in question that would require sprinklers not pay property taxes? Therefore taxpayers would absolutely be footing the bill for this?

But didn't God know I was too lazy to crack them when he gave them?

They could try being an imposter at a different career and see if that works out or not. If they felt like an even bigger imposter there then they would have their answer.
