You seem to have missed my point. Namely, the nobles are likely to change what "counts" as convenience and prudence dictate and when the alternative is angering Ellen, Nanase, and a Fey, many of them are liable to find they're much more flexible when it comes to heirs than previously thought.

You say that, but not being ok with those things means explaining to a, possibly, draconic princess, Nanase, and potentially a fairy, that their child isn't good enough. You may also need to follow that by explaining to the aforementioned fairy that you think their magic is insufficient.

I figured as much, but if you do retcon her, I reserve the right to point at this post and then give myself a cookie. 😜

This might sound like a weird question, but is Bishop human? I was rereading the last few pages and for some reason her bangs struck me as particularly antenna like, with how they move and how different and separate they are from the rest of her hair.

I just sent it.

I think you might be right about it being an artist with a similar name, not just a one-off album, because looking again, a lot of those albums look like they're from someone else, as does the banner.

Huh. Bishop looks a lot less passively intimidating here than she has in the past. Was that intentional?

That makes sense. I mainly asked because you had sounds and animations for most of the interactions, but only highlights for the top level menu and I didn't know if that was a WIP thing or something else.

I don't have context for this, but it does look cool.

This might sound like an odd question, but is scrolling through the menu entries supposed to be part of the interface and its aesthetic?

I suspect the more common approach is to either use a literary device to skip between canon (and possibly novel) scenes, with minimum repetition, or to use minimal descriptions of things that appeared in canon, only repeating the dialogue that's actually relevant.

Almost certainly (and I've almost certainly read some of it, but can't remember any of the top of my head). With that said, I suspect most good instances won't actually bother with the line-for-line recap, for a number of reasons.

I haven't heard of that book before, but it sounds interesting. Is it any good?

Also, did he mean that for a specific type of store (e.g. something high end), or was that supposed to be for generic sales clerks at the supermarket? Because it sounds like the latter, which would be silly.

I know it's a meme, but if I understand things correctly, regardless of what the silverware is called, it's supposed to be arranged so you just work from the outside in as you go through the meals.

Have you read Beware of Chicken?

It's an understandable mentality, but also an extremely dangerous one. Especially this early out, when its the easiest to lay out ultimatums about what behavior is acceptable for a "friend", and when influence groups are trying to push the idea that you have to accept certain "friends" or else.

The thing is, a lot of people don't seem to know the first thing about him. they just hear that he's being vocally anti-Trump, when the rest of the dem leadership is being ... not that. Then they hear people on the left complain about him and I suspect they're just assuming it's minor quibbles.

There's also that time he vetoed a bill to add castes as a protected class. That's not even hyperbole. The California legislature presented him with a bill specifically about stopping caste based discrimination and he said no.

If he hasn't been picked yet, why do they get to declare we need to vote for him? Why can't we declare we won't vote for him, so if they care about democracy they better pick someone else?

For some reason, Liz's expression in the last panel reminds me of one of those Betty and Veronica scenes were they've forgotten they're supposed to care about Archie. ... I've never read an Archie comic, so I have no idea why that's what my mind jumped to.

I'm aware this is meant to be a funny story and that makes for a better story, because it lets Grace play a part, but it does feel weird that the royal family doesn't care about politics or that they'd have trouble finding a partner (due to the same). I guess they're just good parents.
August 20, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Wait, I'm confused. She only meets upper crust ladies at her job, so she came to a royal ball for people to meet, and potentially wed, the prince? Wouldn't the ball be full of the most upper crust of the upper crust?

I know this is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but I'm not actually sure how well that group would be able to manage a regular dude with a regular gun. Sure, several of them have fought more dangerous and destructive opponents, but bullets are dangerous enough and a lot faster than fists or fireballs.

While those three would probably make a similar offer to most people in need, the fact that two of them see Hope as family and the third sees her as a personal friend is a pretty big factor in how likely other people would be to make the offer for purely altruistic reasons.
