I think that it also could have worked to have her in limbo similarly to Viktor for a section of the series and have her regain consciousness after Jayce goes downhill and her mother has taken power.

It also would have made Jayce building HexTech weapons far more compelling, as it is him compromising his morals so quickly feels a bit weak.

It feels like there are places that these characters need to end up developmentally and every single scene is trying to force them into prewritten molds at a break neck pace.

It's also fair to point out, this show is still fantastic, these criticisms only exist in light of Season One.

I feel like the writing in general in this season is extremely rushed, which makes sense they are trying to cram a lot in one season.

Specifically S2E1 is rough around the edges. The funeral fight is written with ExMachina moments over and over and they establish conflicts.
