NEF staff attended the bi-annual Programme Grant (‘Quantum and Many Body Physics Enabled by Advanced Semiconductor Nanotechnology’) Away Day @sheffielduni.bsky.social Edge Centre in April, organised by the Physics Department.

We held our bi-annual PhD Open Day yesterday at @sheffielduni.bsky.social for undergraduate students to find out more about our Facility and PhD studentships.

Our Head of Characterisation Dr Paul Fry attended SIOE 2025 conference this week at @cardiffuni.bsky.social, organised by the Compound Semiconductor Manufacturing Hub.

Paul gave a presentation showcasing the NEF's role & capabilities, and the facility's new Micro-Transfer Printing tool.

Our Sheffield MBE team attended the 2025 UK MBE meeting at the University of Warwick this week.

Dr Edmund Clarke, Dr Pallavi Patil, Dr Akshay Verma and Senior Technician Richard Frith engaged in research presentations and networking with industry and academic experts.

It was a great pleasure to meet Sheffield Central MP Abtisam Mohamed at Monday's All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) meeting on Semiconductors in Westminster.
