Althea's ending is my absolute least favourite part of the liveship books... I think Ship of Destiny does so much so well, and even what happens to her with Kennit feels appropriately awful. and then that she just has this supposedly happy completely toothless ending really fucking annoys me

honestly i think a big problem with reddit is that a certain Type Of Guy is endemic to it, and they're usually on a different wavelength to most transformative fandom people. it's definitely better than it used to be, but in lj comms etc this guy barely existed and it does make for a different feel
