Look at this cute little guy! #lakelife

I love my students! And they know I need coffee. These were my two favorite holiday gifts this year. Just pausing for a minute in all the madness to refocus on why we all do this.

Years ago, when my fiancé moved in, this adorable little guy went around peeing on his clothes to attempt to assert his dominance. It was messy and accomplished nothing. Dealing with a collaborator who is behaving similarly (metaphorically, of course). So sad, during what should be a happy time. 🙁

Congrats to a very talented post-doc in my lab, Mohamed, on submitting his first F32 application today! Here’s to hoping reviewer #2 is in a good mood a few months from now.

Pure joy: when this little old man (who is already plastered to me) gets up to move just 1mm closer. ❤️
