Pisces. Daddo. I geek out on a few things too. Talkative in person—probably too much. Opinionated about human rights.
This week. I’m a mixed bag… just like every other week.

It’s been a minute since my last post.

Feeding time was a joy this morning. I’m loving the baby guppies. They are so small yet so outgoing.

Spontaneous 3 mile hike through Meeman-Shelby Forest—Woodland trail. Right here in Memphis.

3 miles on a slippery trail with lots of elevation changes feels more like 6.

Nature is amazing therapy.

Next up The Gulf of Mexico.

There must be something in the water…. My recent addition to my take came in with fry. Within a few days, she had them.

So far, I’ve found 6.

More color morphs from the ramshorn crew. I like these because they are mixed.

…Pink with blue attributes, red (copper) with green.

Cinca is a juvenile platy that entered my 60g community tank as a days-old fry in some Java moss from my LFS.

We named her Cinco before we knew her sex. At that time her “freckles” were 5 distinct lines.

Sad. But they did.

Welp. Apple Maps fell in line.

Honestly, if it weren’t 🟠 that suggested the change, I would totally understand.

I mean, it is a gulf, surrounded by americas.

They are making me hope and wait for ivory. They aren’t pink or blue…. Maybe they’re technically pink. 🤷‍♂️

Pearl danios are flashing color a bit. Their colors are normally quite subdued. I’ll be on the lookout for spawning in the mornings.

As busy as these danios are, I really enjoy their patient temperament.

Guppies are just shoaling along.

Y’all. I can’t even with these snails 🤣. This is the best clip I’ve caught of a snail mouth.

They’re too funny.

We’re breathing a what!!!?

Sorry for the pore picture quality. I’m excited about this new and unique ramshorn color morph.

There’s no color enhancement here. This is a really rich color.

I hear they help. I keep this, Java moss and alternanthera which all feed from the water column.

The water lettuce must help. Look at these alien roots😆 (gourami for scale)

Caught Pink Gary in a nice light. It’s reminding me of a lifesaver here.

Distance pick with wild color morph for contrast.

Hovering Cory boss. The biggest of my julli Cory cats is just hovering. 🤣

Big one—attached to the side with suction cups. Floaters are growing and spilling over though—especially the water lettuce.

That’s the way! I had the same experience and solution.

It was bugging me that they were all twirling around the water column. The fish and I love them.

Mom-Dad ramshorn snail and a clutch of eggs. This is one of the larger snails in my tank—almost US quarter sized.

They really like laying eggs on valisineria blades.

Okay fishkeepers. Is this young plate pregnant or just very obviously female?

Propagating bucopa and what’s left of my ludwigia (ehem.. danios).

I love how the danios are all over while I do this and the ever chill neons just hang around.

Snails anyone? There are so many. Pink, brown, red, all baby ramshorn—weeks old.

Y’all. This is just one corner of the tank. 🤣

My collection of snails started the same way🤣

Now I love them and can’t get enough. This one is cleaning Mayaca.

I started out with 12 rams and 1 mystery. Now I’m up to 5+ mystery and over 30 ramshorns. The rams really took off in this tank. They’re fun.

Yup. Classic. He Mia eat a good bit of that.

Mine won’t go for that yet. I have to use the bottom feeder pellets and catfish tabs. Both bring out the plexus and the cory cats.
