TIL (because I forgot to take them out of my backpack) that these are TSA legal.

But better not bring a full size toothpaste! I feel safer already.

Guys, no candidate is perfect... we should just ignore all these enormous red flags because we think he communicates effectively about economic policy.

Remember how well that worked out last time?

Connections knows what day it is.

Come play trivia at The Haven in JP tonight at 7PM!
October 13, 2025 at 12:39 PM
huh. would have lost that bet. 🤷

Would go well with the decor in my office.

Mildly surprised that you weren't familiar with Cookie Monstah already, @stabert.bsky.social... Surely you've seen this truck around town in your time here? Maybe just didn't make the connection in the moment. 🤷

This map from Reddit seems about right to me... you'll note Stoneham (and Melrose) are undefined, neither in North Shore nor any other grouping. 🤷

Hope there's a round of revisions for finalists. None of the patterns nail it. This one is close, but needs to simplify. They should:
1. Cut the border pattern at the bottom
2. Cut the star... or at least move it so it's not overlapped by the lighthouse aura... but just cut it, tbh.

Love the motto.

Additional fun fact that pairs well with today's @stabert.bsky.social episode on Charles Sumner: Edward Everett was the featured speaker at the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery, speaking for over two hours before the president gave a much better remembered two minute speech.

Investigating my options for city councilor at-large... No wonder the only sign supporting this guy in my neighborhood is at a fucking gas station.

Surprised to hear @ajjacobs.bsky.social say he's never heard the word schlimazel, but here's the quick definition: a schlemiel is a klutz who's always spilling soup, a schlimazel is who they spill the soup on.

A sad sack, basically.

Boston features prominently in @lastweektonight.com's piece on Gang Databases tonight... Here's hoping @alexandravaldez.bsky.social was watching and reconsiders her position.

Get a load of this guy. When I first got on the train, I went to share that space that is CLEARLY enough for AT LEAST two people figuring he'd move over and make room... he did not.

A stop later, a woman with a baby carriage got on... he didn't move for her either. What a prick!
July 17, 2025 at 11:43 AM
Hmm.... I was leaning toward Valdez as my third choice for at-large in September (behind @ruthzee.bsky.social and @clrhenrysantana.bsky.social), but this response is concerning!

Have to thank @ajjacobs.bsky.social for my correct answer on this @learnedleague.com question today.

Day's off to a great start... With the Dunks in Back Bay closed, I had to hoof it to the Transportation Building (because my office is in a Dunkin' void) and it took them 25 minutes to make a lg iced w/ oat milk.

No wonder T management operates slow with service that bad at the Dunks in their HQ!
May 29, 2025 at 12:50 PM
This should end with a T... And have another S, tbh.

I mean, far be it from me to defend the asshole, but:

This gently scoldy message from @microsoft.com Teams
irks me every time I see it.

The meeting is scheduled for 2 PM (which Teams knows) and it's currently 2 PM. Just because the organizer hasn't started the meeting yet doesn't mean I'M early.

Not sure if my @learnedleague.com opponent is British and went to college in the US or a US expat... and the answer to that would greatly affect how difficult I expect they'll find this question:

6. What American folk hero battled a steam drill in a rock-crushing contest, won, and then died?
May 20, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Feel like a bit of a douche even saying it, but my favorite place to eat at Logan is the new Chase Sapphire lounge, @stabert.bsky.social. 🧐🎩

Lol... Yeah, #1 seems like a big risk, tbh!

In other words, "I have no problem accepting this money on behalf of a neighborhood full of students and yuppies, as long as you make it explicit you won't send a dime to Roxbury or Mattapan"
