As I love to point out to people who talk about different scientific theories as though they're hypotheses, the theory of gravitation is far, far more controversial than the theory of anything they think of as "disputed" science. We know way less about why gravity works than those things.

I know nothing all the time so on average the human species looks like it knows an average number of things, but I'm an outlier adn shouldn't have been counted.

Obviously it's different in trans communities where talking about it is kind of the point, but that's largely opt-in.

In some ways the positive affirmations are inherently "being weird about it." Like they're trying to be supportive and that's definitely appreciated and miles better compared with being weird about it in a shitty way, but the best way to not be weird about it is to just not even bring it up.

Do they mean "aliens exist anywhere" or "aliens have visited earth?" Because yeah I would expect the numbers to be pretty high if the question is "do you think it's likely that there's life anywhere other than earth?"

Doctors and know better than you do what the risks are and the people undergoing the process are more familiar with their needs and the factors affecting their lives, and they don't think this is a problem. Why do you feel your concerns are worth voicing and overriding either group?
