How do you track abuse DBs to avoid this? Just dipping my toes into VPS providers and I’m using Vultr, but I would love to ensure safety and security.

My needs are simple I setup some vlans, WireGuard (as you mentioned) and Suricata but the experience was smooth and easier to implement than I’ve ever experienced.

This is a great product and I hope you’re proud

I personally love that you contribute to FreeBSD so heavily because not only is pushing the FOSS world forward better for creating an amazing product like what you’ve created but it’s also just altruistic to others who need the best toolset

I’m still very much learning (just picked up a book on FreeBSD) and so I don’t fully comprehend the benefits of half of what you listed. That being said, I installed pfSense this week on your recommendation and wow you were not kidding it’s amazing. The experience has been seamless for my needs!

I appreciate you putting your bias out front, but if you’re willing to offer your point of view I’m more than happy to read and learn about your reasoning!

Nice, do you have any specific reason why? Seems like pfSense has better overall documentation at first glance

I’ve tried Linux so many times as a dual boot and really do love it for programming workflows but yeah for almost everything else it’s just not as smooth and user friendly as I’d like.

My solution?

- Windows Desktop
- Mac for when I’m not at my desk
- Mini PC’s in a Proxmox Cluster for Linux

Constant optimization is always a dragon. Synology makes great software for their NAS and I love my little 2 bay Synology. It hums along and stores everything I need it to with fault tolerance.

It's hard to go wrong if that helps at all :)
