This looks nice but I’ll never match my late grandmother’s proficiency with apple tarts. At family gatherings she used to present one to a selected male relative, a son in law or grandson. ‘What do we get’, asked a female relative once. ‘The recipe’, she replied 🤣

Learned a new favourite way of cooking aubergines whole. Mostly peel them, slice them lengthways into a flower shape leaving base intact, season and par bake until soft, stuff with a thick sauce then place in a snug covered pan and cook on low heat for an hour
