Even as someone who hasn't seen it, it's hard to ignore it had an impact on audiences from what I see here or other places so to not achnowledge it at all or downgrade the achievement (especially when the studio itself isn't) is, like you said, corny behavior.

The best thing about it was I saw it in one of the luxury cinemas where you could get food served to you and stuff (it was a last minute decision to go see it so I didn’t actually order anything) with a packed house and it felt like the most opposite place to see it which made it even better.

The fact these discussions keep happening is super annoying when there are stories of more casual fans retweeting and liking GIFs and videos off of crazy spots and athletic moves. Heck, the Suzuki matches where he was wrestling on trains and boats went viral to the point it got mainstream attention.

Then the match was super boring, bugs got projected from the ceiling for no reason and the air was sucked from an open air stadium which felt impossible before that night. Now, nobody talks about it except to sigh and say “And then the bell rang”.

Orton/Wyatt at WrestleMania 33 is a perfect go to for that. I remember people loving the story and how it slowly built and the potential Luke Harper involvement that never happened and the investment level was high.

Character work and promo ability is obviously important, but it’s the equivalent of liking the promotional campaign for a film and making it the biggest aspect about it. It’ll get people into the theatre and it could help make it a lot of money but if the end product is bad, all of that is a waste.
