3 of these 4 priorities will turbocharge climate change. Looks like growth at any cost. It’ll be interesting to see how her plan to impose a limit of one judicial review on any government decision will work out.

Ditched R4 Today a few years ago in favour of R5Live. But I’ve noticed it turning in the same direction recently. Hope it’s the exception but one morning last month I was prompted to send this text:

Reminds me of this sign for Faber Castell factory in Fermoy, Co Cork (photo by Irish Examiner), a little landmark on car journeys from Dublin to Cork. Explained why our schoolboy our ostensibly German orange Columbus pencils said “Made in Ireland”.

Enjoying this, a lot. Some wonderful, evocative descriptions, so far, of places I know. Writing of Bloomsbury, there’s a reference to Yeats and “the living and the dead” that prompted a “no, that’s Joyce”, followed by the thought that that little barb was purposely left for pedants like me.

You’ve just reminded me of this hairdressing salon in Camden Town, London, from back in the day.

Someone misunderstanding a comment about a phonetic translation of an English phrase reminded me of the being told there’s Kneecap/Ní cheap thing but I wanted to check my spelling and got this AI slop.

You’ve reminded me of this little fishing boat spotted in Youghal, Co Cork.

Taken from not so far away. Even after 40 years away it’s still home.

Quite challenging, if this Wikipedia page is correct. Looks like a constitutional prohibition, not an opt-out, if EU establishes common defence. Not having a proper national defence force or arms industry looking very short sighted at the moment.

From today’s Guardian. Prompted me to look up some biblical takes on keeping company, given Trump appeared to have got religion on the campaign trail.

1 Corinthians: Do not be deceived: bad company ruins good morals.

Proverbs: The violent plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them.

Is she a bit of a loose cannon, scrabbling for ways to escape the corner she’s painted herself into with pre-election promises and NI folly?

So Heathrow expansion is actually a Baldrick cunning plan sprung by Reeves on cabinet and Starmer? From FT

It’s got too many of these kinds of spaces that seem neglected in terms of design, construction and maintenance, for my liking.
