Interesting! Side note, is this a common use of the term glycolysis? Glycolysis to me (US biochemist) refers specifically to the metabolic pathway for glucose, and I get very confused seeing it mean “cleavage-using-ethylene-glycol”

The Lehninger biochem textbook says she chose W for tryptophan as phonetically suggestive as well (tWyptophan). I like double ring represented as double U as well!
