Same for me but it was my Mom who was a flight instructor during WWII. I ended up as an aerospace engineer in pre-design/conceptual design. Traded ideas with Ron Cobb.

We considered that issue from the beginning of our development of our zinc based batteries. That are designed to be built in an adapted lead acid factory and can be recycled using lead acid battery recycling equipment and processes (not the same facility).

Our you could start with at battery technology at the core of the system with the energy of lithium that does not catch fire.
