I saw interesting Reddit comments about Filipinos developing eczema symptoms when they move abroad and there's a theory it's triggered by living in dry climates as our bodies are supposed to be in tropical, humid climates like the PH is

I have eczema but idk what to make of that

Got my Meccha Japan order! It actually delivered while I was in LA. ✨
My parents confirmed there was thankfully no extra surprise imports fees upon delivery since I prepaid the tariffs to Meccha and FedEx.

I'm still wondering why Shakira plays a Gazelle in the Zootopia movies when she literally has a song called "She WOLF"

i feel so bad for artists who now have to deal with accusations that their work is ai

Its so demeaning to the life of work they put into their art, and it must suck to have to argue that your work is in fact your own.

If you can draw, that's really cool, I think you are great.

Forgot to mention, a Filipino American bookstore does not exist at all in the New Jersey/New York area, so it was awesome to see!
The biggest FilAm populations are in Hawaii, California, Nevada, Washington state, and Alaska. FilAms like me only make up ~1.5% of NJ's population
"Books!"
In San Pedro in the LA area, there's a bookstore called Philippine Expressions Bookshop that sells books on Filipino topics, whether novels, history, culture, overseas diaspora issues, kids' books, etc.
They have books written by both Filipino and FilAm authors 🇵🇭📚

The Zeiss telescope at the Griffith Observatory in LA 🔭
It's free to the public on clear evenings, and planet Saturn was visible Friday night so we saw a good view of it in the telescope 🪐

I knew it was always an issue there but I was still shocked by the amount of pollution in LA. And this is coming from someone who is from the New York / New Jersey area and has lived in Manila temporarily, which has its own pollution problem as well.

The Santa Monica Pier at night and in daytime! 🌊🏖️🌴
I wanted to watch the sunset here but we missed the opportunity. The daytime pic and video was taken in the morning before heading to the airport for our flight back to Jersey

Also, I think Times Square is a worse tourist trap in terms of overcrowding. It's ALWAYS overcrowded there no matter how early it is or the time of year. The only time I've actually seen it empty was during the Covid-19 lockdown
There were some homeless people around the boulevard as I was warned by the Internet and other people I talked to in real life who have been to LA. But I didn't feel a negative experience there, maybe it's because I'm desensitized seeing homeless people all the time in New York.

Me and Reina walked through the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I found Shakira's star! 🎬🎶🎭⭐️
Yes, it's an infamous tourist trap. But because it was my first time and an early Friday morning, there wasn't overcrowding of many people so it actually was an enjoyable experience for us!
