It has lots of symbolism and ended up being a very personal one. I thought "maybe I AM an artist after all" when I was done 😅
An illustration based on the song Cirice by Ghost. It depicts the band's frontman at the time, Papa Terzo, in white Pope attire behind a woman all in black, covered in blood and carrying a lamb, while she's reaching back to him with her other hand. Her heart is bleeding in the middle of her chest and there's thunder cracking around it, her eyes glowing in the same color - she was based on the 70's version of Carrie. He has a shepherd staff in one hand while resting his other hand on her shoulder, with a broken halo around his head. The background is red, from lighter to darker color. On the top, there's a phrase from the song "Can you hear the rumble that's calling?" His clothes are white not only as a reference to Pope's attire, but to Hannibal in the Silence of the Lambs - the woman carrying the lamb is also a reference. Her hands are slightly painted in white, not covered in blood, even if she believes herself she is covered in it. On his clothes, there are inverted crosses and the infinite symbol - and his hands/design is very sharp, as a reminder that even if he is comforting, he also has a dangerous and quite manipulative side to him. Not really to be trusted, even if he is a shepherd of outcast souls. Okay, I’m hoping this will gain some traction on Bluesky *inhales* SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY IN OREGON IS IN DANGER OF CLOSING. This sets a dangerous precedent for state capital libraries!!
