The home food environment is key to children's health.

PhD researcher Rui Ma explored the home food environment in Northern China with parents and children, finding that children's preferences and the influence of grandparents play key roles.

Last month, pupils from Millom School joined @hardknottforest.bsky.social to learn about practical conservation and nature-friendly farming.

They planted trees and wildflowers, set up cameras to observe wildlife, and worked with local farmers.

A new species of giant tree has been found in the Amazon Rainforest and named after the School of Geography's Professor Oliver Phillips.

At the festival, the team launched their illustrated book, a collection of stories all about tidal flooding.

As well as raising awareness, the book helps affected communities talk about their experiences and needs.

The research team hosted a festival to share their results. 120 people joined from government, charities and academia.

Creative exhibitions and expert panels highlighted the challenges that tidal flooding gives vulnerable groups, including increased gender-based violence.
