Here at entropy rising, we focus on science and futurism. Nothing is too ambitious in our eyes
Why are we building robots that look like us?

Our latest episode is all about humanoid robotics, the design, the purpose, and whether mimicking the human form is brilliance… or just inefficient.

Of all the things we could discover in the universe Alien ruins would be the most terrifying.

Because ruins mean something came before us. Something advanced. Capable of space travel. And whatever they were… they’re gone now.

The First Moon City will be more akin to an oil rig or mining town.

The first real lunar habitats won’t be sleek, futuristic cities they’ll be rugged, utilitarian, and built for survival. Think more mining camp than space utopia.

Phosphorus could be a great filter for Life.

When we think about the building blocks of life, we usually focus on carbon, water, and oxygen. But there’s another element that might be just as important, phosphorus. And it could be rare enough to act as a Great Filter for life in the universe.

Iron destroys stars

Fusion powers the stars, forging heavier elements from lighter ones and releasing incredible amounts of energy in the process. But at iron the chain stops cold.

Why Do We Want Helium-3 Fusion?

Nuclear fusion is already hard enough, so why are some scientists and engineers so interested in helium-3 (He-3) fusion, a fuel that’s incredibly rare on Earth and requires a billion degrees to fuse.

The Biggest Challenge of Building a Lunar Base? The Dust.

Building a base on the Moon isn’t just about getting there, it’s about surviving the environment, and one of the biggest problems isn’t just the radiation or temperature. It’s the dust.

We’ve Already Achieved Net Energy Gain from Fusion

Fusion power has been called the “holy grail” of energy, something we’ve been chasing for decades. But the truth is, we already have nuclear fusion, it’s just uncontrolled, violent, and weaponized.

When people imagine a Dyson Swarm, they often picture a massive array of solar collectors harvesting energy and beaming it back to Earth. But in reality, a Dyson Swarm would likely be just as much about habitats and industry as it is about power generation

Yes, you can orbit a black hole.

Black holes sound exotic, but at their core, they’re just really dense objects with really strong gravity. If you replaced the Sun with a black hole of the same mass, Earth wouldn’t get sucked in, it would keep orbiting exactly as it does now.

Building Ring Worlds Out of Neutron Stars

Ring worlds are a sci-fi dream, massive, artificial habitats encircling a star, offering living space far beyond that of planets. But there’s one big problem: normal matter just isn’t strong enough to hold one together.

To all science fiction writers. At the end of each one of our episodes, we feature a one to two minute spot for authors to talk about their work. If you’re interested you can submit your book at www.entropy-rising.com/submit-works we feature books in a first come first serve manner 🚀✍️

If you added just 10% more mass to the Sun, its lifespan would drop from 10 billion years to about 5.5 billion.

That might sound counterintuitive. How can more fuel make a star burn out faster?

Could the Moon Become an Economic Superpower?

Right now, the Moon is just a barren rock in space. But in a future where humans expand beyond Earth, the Moon could become one of the most important economic centers in the solar system.

According to our hosting platform, Entropy Rising is now in the top 15% of podcasts worldwide, which is honestly wild. When we started this project, I never expected to hit a stat like this so soon.

Huge thank you to everyone who’s been listening, sharing, and supporting the show!

people picture the solar system as ending at Pluto or maybe the Kuiper Belt, but that’s just the beginning. The true edge of our solar system is the Oort Cloud; a vast, invisible shell of icy objects so far away that we have to measure its size in light years.

An Alien Invasion of Earth Makes No Sense

Sci-fi loves the idea of aliens invading Earth for our resources, land, or even just conquest. But when you actually think about it, that makes zero sense.

Hot-ish take: Revelation Space deserves just as much love as The Expanse. The worldbuilding is deep, the ideas are massive in scope, and it’s one of the most thought provoking sci-fi universes I’ve read. If you haven’t checked it out it’s worth considering!

Any time I post about building an orbital economy someone inevitably comments
“Who’s going to pay it?” as if it’s some endless money pit with no return.

But space is an economic goldmine. The only reason we’re not already making trillions is because we haven’t built the infrastructure to do so yet

What if we could hack fusion using antimatter? 🚀🧪

Fusion is already hard enough to achieve, but what if we could cheat the process using antimatter?

That’s the idea behind antimatter catalyzed fusion; a propulsion system that could push a spacecraft to a significant fraction of light speed.

What If the Dark Forest Is Just a Mistake?

The Dark Forest Theory assumes that alien civilizations stay silent because the universe is a hostile battlefield.

But what if the danger isn’t coming from intelligent hunters; what if it’s from a mistake made millions of years ago?

Fusion power isn’t about mimicking a star; it’s about Surpassing One

A lot of people think building a fusion reactor means creating a mini star on Earth, but that’s not actually the goal.

Saturn May Have Saved the Solar System from Jupiter 🧪

Today, Jupiter is often seen as a cosmic shield, deflecting asteroids and comets away from Earth

But this wasn’t always the case: Jupiter initially formed farther out but started migrating inward due to interactions with the protoplanetary disk

The universe is vast, silent… and maybe deadly.

In our latest episode of Entropy Rising, we’re diving into the Dark Forest Theory, a chilling answer to the Fermi Paradox that suggests intelligent civilizations stay quiet; or get eliminated.

Are we making a mistake by reaching out?
