dude let me know the final number of prom apps u get because it looks so scary over there

so i did! i made the shadows way darker and added a more intense white to the highlights. i also did effects like blurs and grain and chromatic aberration to make it look more finished. there's definitely loads i could've improved on but i like the finished product

i felt like something was missing so i went a little crazy on the effects and light and stuff and lost a little bit of sight of what i wanted from the original piece (really intense dramatic lighting) so i went on an art server and asked for help. they told me to increase the contrast!

then this was after i added the colours and cleaned up the shading

lineart—i read somewhere that shading without color added helps you have a better understanding of volume and light so i gave it a go. i wasn't sure how to feel about it but it was good to block the general shapes of the light out

initial sketch...it took a while for me to be satisfied with it and i think i ended up changing some parts when i cleaned it up but this was just to get a general idea

then i did the photobash and edited the picture to turn it into a proper background while keeping in mind the composition i wanted. i removed the tree and moved the buildings around a whole lot as well as using filters in photopea

first thing was the inspiration which was this roleplay reply post i wrote almost a year ago! the scene was set in a park and we never properly established the time but context clues said it was nighttime so i went with that
