Wales: The Council Tax Reduction Schemes (Prescribed Requirements and Default Scheme)(Wales) Regulations 2025 - ensures a claim for Universal Credit can be treated as a claim for CTR.
We know many LAs in England do this but the country wide approach from Wales means it's less of a postcode lottery.

Numbers of people claiming Pension Credit have improved since the Winter Fuel Payment changes were announced in July, with applications up by 145%, but over 700,000 are still deemed to be eligible but not claiming.

This casestudy stood out for us, as migration of ESA claimants expands from February '25:
"The prospect of moving to UC triggered suicidal thoughts in the claimant. Fearing she would lose all her income, she bought a tent & some potatoes so she & her daughter could survive if they became homeless."
