The link between the rise and fall of violent crime and the use of leaded-gasoline is pretty convincing. Interesting fact I recently learned- the guy who invented leaded gasoline also came up with the idea to use CFCs as an aerosol propellant.

It’s awesome how we’re just so far gone that the media’s covering this like the big story is about the reaction of the president’s lunatic supporters to the potential cover-up of his involvement in a child trafficking ring rather than, you know, the potential cover-up itself.

Desantis absolutely does not get enough blame for this mess. He saw an opportunity after Jan 6 and seized on the nascent COVID backlash to go from encouraging seniors to vaccinate, to launching a full on “medical freedom” crusade basically overnight out of pure cynical ambition for the crown.

This doesn’t feel like fair engagement with or framing of Donnie’s article. He’s speaking specifically to dealing with close loved ones going through this, not randos online or in the wild.

A couple weeks ago we were in DC and walked our seven year old son around the tidal basin, he had just learned about MLK and was stoked to see to the memorials. It was enraging and surreal to see how literally all the ideals they represent are completely antithetical to what these people believe in.
