A fan of *all* the wingy-thingies, especially raptors. Also 4-legged friends (wild & domestic) & creatures of the sea & desert.
I was @bruisermom in a former life. 😻
SUCCESS!! Well, a big step in right direction—she’s FINALLY sitting on porch chair with nice cushion instead of lying in the soggy garden mulch!!! 🎉

I’ve been feeding/trying to “save” this beautiful feral-ish kitty that’s taken up residence in my backyard since the godawful rains last weekend … I actually got to touch her head today!! (She is TNR, has clipped right ear.) 😻

😳 The scene the crime — #Cooper’sHawk was finally successful in snatching one of my backyard birds #murderbird 🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶 @watchinthesky.bsky.social @burrowingowl.bsky.social @onlyveesaz.bsky.social

😳 Agreed (as I continue feeding this [apparent] TNR kitty that appeared in my backyard a week ago…).
I still wanna know: did the dropped cat survive? So many unanswered questions. 😿

You’ll never go wrong with a Tortie! My Halley was the sweetest little kitty of all time. Enjoy every minute with your Agatha!

I’d be happy to give you some of mine! Pic of *overnight* rainfall gauge here in Ventura County …

If you see this, post an album cover with a car (truck, motorcycle, tractor) on it.

Good morning! No sun here at the moment, just squirrel & crows to greet me as I open the back door. 🪶

#BirdOfTheDay for Saturday, 25 October 2025. Theme: #sunlit.
Here’s a lively bunch of Bushtits enjoying a frolic in the fountain as the sun has finally come out!

This is Rosa, the Aplomado Falcon ed bird at World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise. Falcons are my spirit bird. ❤️

Good mornjng! CA #ScrubJay says “Gimme my peanuts…please!”
October 23, 2025 at 3:18 PM
I heard the #BirdOfTheDay is #Raptors, so here are 2 that were just hanging out, watching my yard from the neighbor’s trees—beautiful young Cooper’s and Red-shouldered hawks. ❤️🪶

Good morning! This is my “scaredy” ScrubJay—I have to be far away before he’ll come get a peanut at the porch.

Good morning, cute (but wary) owls! This cute (but impatient) CA #ScrubJay got tired of our photo session & snatched the peanut right from my fingers! 😂🪶

Good morning! This little Allen’s Hummingbird clearly is not the least bit bothered by our most welcome rain! ☔️🪶

Good morning! This Gulf #Fritillary caterpillar has traveled a great distance from its hatching on a passion vine to a hose bib across the yard & is now doing its “J” thing. Pretty soon, cat will be a chrysalis, & eventually a gorgeous butterfly! 🦋🪶
October 13, 2025 at 4:38 PM
#DecisionsDecisions Beautiful #CAScrubJay always has a hard time choosing among the peanuts. 🪶

G’morning! The eyes have it! 👀 And this cute #CACondor chick at #BitterCreekNWR seems to be looking at us through ancient dino eyes. (Screen grab from Cornell Lab’s Condor Cam on YT)

My just-discovered Gulf Frit chrys this morning—it’s definitely still alive! 🥳

Poor Mr (or Ms) Coop, dove into bushes and came up empty again, now chirping laments at me before taking off. I’m starting to feel bad for him/her. 🪶

It’s Ventura Co Sheriff’s copter, hanging out for 10+ mins near ag field across the street & down the hill from my house … 🤷‍♀️ but glad it’s not #ICE #Camarillo #VCSD

They’re pretty determined! I just found a new one in the trash enclosure, well-hidden behind the yard waste barrel —moved for trash day— on the underside of the fence crossbar (?). A serious distance w/ lots of obstacles to get there. Hope it’s still viable, looks like maybe close to bloom time. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞
