The dossier was initially funded by the GOP against trump bc they didn't want him to win the nomination. After he won it was shipped around to the Dems bc they might be interested.

I posed a similar question to the Freakonomics podcast several years ago...is there an economic incentive to find a cure for cancer when treatments are so profitable? Will we ever have cures for anything anymore?

I wasn't sold on their answer.
