Another example is when customers drop off in engagement. Here, I have a function that sends an email if a customer hasn't attended a session in 90 days, and the template email has reviews from other group members to encourage the customer to re-engage.

Then I send the email to a fake SMTP server to so see if the values filled in correctly. I used a random string of letters for the username and a couple of random groups from the database as a recommendation example.

For example, the left image has a function that gets the ID of the customer, updates their data to show they have upgraded and are now a paying member. Then it selects customer and group data, and the email template on the right is filled with the actual values.

Later I will have emails be sent to the customer with personalized dynamic content pulled from the database, and segment the customers further by having more loyal customers eligible to be group leaders.
