Hello everyone! I'm so excited to introduce my first book cover spin! Inspired by @ennahauthor.bsky.social's The Crimson Walls Of Algorithm, this luxurious #handspunyarn is a blend of merino wool, silk, & bamboo. Check out the listing on Etsy, link in bio ❤️

First…Amazon is wretched.

BUT REMEMBER: Amazon is also how many indie authors are able to reach readers because many brick and mortar stores won’t take a chance on us.

Boycotting and canceling Amazon and Kindle/KU hurts indie authors. A lot.

Book two is with betas and there’s quite a change from book one. Most of the feedback has been positive, yet somehow the one bad review so far has me absolutely gutted and making me feel like a failure.

Today’s my last day with my husband before he’s deployed for the US Navy. He’s been gone most of the time since being stationed away from us back in March ‘23. I thought I’d be okay because he’s been gone so much already, but this hurts a lot.

Woops. Made the mistake of reading a review. This is why I just stay away from them.

No, I don’t care what people say. Everyone has their opinions and how they feel about things. I’m glad they read my book and found some enjoyment in it, even if it wasn’t what they hoped for. ♥️

All the color palette quizzes/flow charts point me toward cool summer and I so desperately want to be a warm autumn. 🥲

Have I ever mentioned how much more I like editing than drafting?

How early is too early for the first spicy scene in the second book of a romance series? 👀

So now I’m just waiting for the shoe to drop 👀

Are you a “the kitchen’s clean so the house is clean” kind of person or are you normal?

My favorite thing to do when writing anything that requires in-depth planning such as a mystery or puzzle…is to write the character(s) piecing it together in vivid detail until I can figure it out for myself.

When watching the Twilight Saga, the one thing that bothers me above all else (even beyond the sparkles and imprinting on babies) is the way they make it look like the distance between Forks and Seattle is a quick “hey, darling, have lunch with grandpa and I’ll be back when you’re done” kind of trip

Meanwhile, I’ve got exactly zero orders and zero pages read for my published book today.

The algorithm change on IG has really messed with small indie authors. 🥲

8.5k words in the books for Nano today. 3 full chapters. Feeling really great about this. ✨

Might keep going later. 👀

Me: Oh, no. I’m not anxious. I’ve been doing well lately.

My peeling, bitten lips: …

Am I listening to winter music already? Yes. Don’t judge. I need something positive these days.

The way I’ve had to lower my September writing expectations thanks to teaching is insane. 😔

You know what’s better torture than a romantasy in which the MC’s life is perfect with 100 pages left?

When that book is the first in a series and ends with everything perfect.

You think those 100 pages were bad? You’ve got at least two more books to see how horrible this can get.

Tim Burton was living in the future with his stop-motion films. They still look fantastic decades later on hi-def TVs. The details are incredible.
