Side note: if the plant itself is rotting, propagating is probably the only way you're going to save it

soil. Specifically succulent/cactus soil, and mixed with perlite. Make sure the pot has proper drainage. Water only when plant shows signs of thirst. Feel free to DM me if you need any plant advice or resources!

I know more about succulents (own a ton) than cacti but I can give some advice since they're very similar. Remove from pot, check for root rot and cut off roots if they're rotten (you should Google more about root rot care). Once you've determined what needs to be done there, repot in fresh (1/2)
