When the rules of budget reconciliation said Republicans couldn’t do tax breaks for billionaires and corporations, they changed the rules to pretend that those tax cuts were ‘free.’

Congress is now headed home for recess and we will be there to hold them accountable. We're planning town halls and events across the country to make sure everyone knows about the Trump-Musk coup. We can't count on all our supposed leaders to fight back, so it's time for us to turn up the pressure.

This isn't a fight between progressives and moderates. The House Democratic Caucus was practically unanimous in its opposition to the bill. This is a struggle between those of us who are willing to fight back against authoritarianism and those who aren't. We deserve leaders who share our commitment.
