Just a reminder: Those who banned and burned books never were on the rights side of history.

6. Don’t purchase weapons

7. Embrace diversity and get to know other cultures by traveling the world and doing research

8. Start a collection to donate to a charity

9. Volunteer for the Peace Corps

10. If you have a platform, use it to educate
Martin Luther King Jr. said: “It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it.”

War is a choice.

But so is peace.

We can promote peace.

In our family, at our work, in our town or city.

You ask how?

Well, here are 50 ideas for you:

1. Treat all people with kindness, regardless of race, gender orientation, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

2. Attend a peace rally

3. Write to your government (local and federal)

4. Create a peaceful affirmation/mantra

5. Don’t engage in violence of any kind
Today it’s Volkstrauertag in Germany (people's mourning day), which commemorates members of the armed forces of all nations and civilians who died in war or are victims of violent oppression.

In churches all over Germany, names of fallen soldiers were read out loud in the towns they lived in.

What drives you most?

Have you ever learned anything about intrinsic motivation in school?

Same here, although not primarily through poetry.
On grief and St Teresa of Ávila and the need to get off the mourning couch and much more 💙

As a man, I’m just not scared like Trump. I’m not scared of telling the truth. I’m not scared of humility. I’m not scared of people who don’t look like me. I’m not scared of immigrants, of powerful women, of working people, of trans people, of Muslims. 1/3

We can hate the people who have been taught to hate. We can continue the destructive blame game. We can sink deeper into the kryptonite of radical change: cynicism. We can paralyze ourselves in fear of what’s to come.

Or. . .

Every time you see a Democratic leader refuse to recognize racism as a decisive factor in the victories of Trump Republicans you are witnessing a Democratic leader open the door to the future victories of Trump Republicans. Denying and ignoring racism is a losing proposition for Democrats. 1/2

How many books are you reading at the moment?

Am I the only one always starting new ones before finishing all the others first?

//

Wie viele Bücher lest ihr gerade parallel?

Bin ich der einzige, der immer wieder neue Bücher anfängt, bevor er die anderen zuerst fertiggelesen hat?
