Public transport, cycle ways and walkable urban centers should be prioritised over building more roads.
It isn't feasible for all of NZ to drive electric cars. Net zero in our transport sector can only come from a combination of electrification and un-car-ification.

The clean car discount rightly accounted for the true cost of driving a petrol vehicle.
It should be returned, taxing oversized personal vehicles (SUVs) specifically.

NZ has consented wind farms enough to double our wind generation.
Government-owned electricity generators prefer to keep burning coal and gas because it's more profitable than cheap renewable energy.
The govt has a moral obligation to push these projects through.

The wealthiest 10% of people globally create half of all carbon emissions.
Climate change adaptation is expensive. Those with fortunes borne of reckless industrial emissions should be the ones who pay for it.
