Sounds good to me too. Most teams go through a lot of relievers throughout the season, so getting a ton of options like that is a good plan

Also, thoughts on Grant Hartwig? Was decent in 2023 with the Mets, just signed as a minor league free agent. Major in microbiology and from what I can tell seems like a good interview. Hopefully he is healthy but he seems like someone that would be easy to cheer for

I’d keep Prielipp in the St. Paul rotation to start. I also fully expect a rule 5 pick and probably another free agent. The others all make sense

You aren’t alone. I am thinking Casas more for dh/1b, but the others make sense to me too. Hopefully Lee can show he belongs too. But getting a good defensive SS is something I 100% agree with

So I am starting to manifest the idea of trading for Tristan Casas. Am I crazy? Yeah probably. Does it make a lot of sense and have the Twins been loosely connected to him for years? Yes. Just throwing it out while I drink my coffee and look at my phone

That’s ok then. I’m hoping for a middle of the order type bat (Tristan Casas may be available) and at least a couple more relievers (Kenley Jansen or Luke Weaver and a lefty or similar) and none of that should get the payroll all that high. Thanks!

Liked the video. I more meant I think it wouldn’t be enough to trade Ryan for JUST Tong. More would have to come along, especially if comparing what other teams can offer

That said, I think there is a path where now is the height of Ryan’s trade value. And I do expect more than one top 50 prospect for him.

Agreed. There isn’t a hard deadline to trade anyone right now. The budget can be what they want in August truly. If the offers aren’t there (and that’s not what I expect) they don’t have to figuratively sell anyone for 50 cents on the dollar

Maybe? I love Tong’s numbers but I also question his stature a bit and how his stuff will fully translate. I also think the twins should get quite a bit more if they trade Ryan compared to what they receive for Duran (a top 50 prospect in Tait and a top 100 prospect in Abel.)

See, I think Tong is nice and all, but I don’t think he alone is nearly enough. At least not what’s been reported for the ask. He isn’t even the Mets best pitching prospect

I have a few; 1) Is there an update on you running a thousand drafts on tankathon. What are the percentages you have for where the Twins would fall? 2) If you had to do a mock top 5 picks, or at least could you name out of the Twins had each pick one through 5, who you think they would take?
