Operation Portal Recon seems to be imminent! You can now head to opr.ingress.com to see the new homepage of Niantic Spatial Recon. While you can attempt to sign in, at the moment it still gives an error so you cannot use Recon yet.

The #Ingress team has announced a new feature coming in the next update: Drone’s-Eye View (DEV)!

As with the Intel Map, you will be able to pan around the scanner and view areas outside your normal scanner view and tap a portal to view its details.

The +Delta Campaign: Field is in full swing and the three Premium Campaigns accompanying it have just been released worldwide. The three Campaigns cost 30,800 CMU each and allow you to earn Weapons and Resonators while your work on the main +Delta Reso Op.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 00:00 UTC, the price for a single Key Locker will be raised from 3700 CMU to 20.000 CMU (~15€/~$13).

Niantic has revealed the details of the +Delta Campaign: Field which will run from 30 August to 14 September! During the Campaign you will receive 7 Bounties, involving earning “+Delta Field Points”, creating Fields, destroying Fields, claiming Kinetic Programs.

The +Delta Campaign: Fields is now visible in the Dispatch screen. Aside from creating Fields, you will also need to destroy Fields to complete the Campaign Bounties which can be harder to do.

Unless Machina suddenly starts to field, prepare accordingly!

Update 2.173.1 was released for #Ingress! Included are changes aimed towards new Agents, a link to the @ingress.com Bluesky profile and a scroll bar in the Store, together with a red dot for free daily items.

A few bugs regarding sorting Keys and a soft lock in Dispatch were also fixed.

Agents recently voiced their current frustration with Ingress and the way the game is seemingly handled by Niantic Spatial on Reddit.

Brian has replied to that post and has given a bit of insights into the behind the scenes of the team at the moment.

It partially reads: "tl;dr: I'm going to start being more active on social to answer players' questions and try to highlight the cool things players around the world are doing today in Ingress. I was on our Ingress team when we launched our Android closed beta on Nov 15, 2012, and I recall reading a few doom and gloom posts even 12 years ago. There were other more interesting posts with fan art and SITREPs and meetup photos, which I still see and enjoy today, but these posts about how fun and worthwhile Ingress is today in 2025 can be harder for new players to find when the kind of posts that get more reach, visibility, and engagement are the ones with hotter takes and more extreme emotions. Ingress is like a salve from the anger machine because I know firsthand that people can make real friends in the real world by being an Agent connected to their local communities. The way people talk to each other online versus face to face to face is different. I want players to understand how much our Ingress Team cares about Ingress, our player community, and our connection with each of you. Players don't know what we're working on and why we're working on those things, and I'm going to try to address that by being more active on social. We're still in the long process of moving Ingress to a new startup, Niantic Spatial, and setting things back up. Yesterday, I was finally able to set up our new team members to work on mission reviews, so we can get new and edited missions published. But if we say nothing, then even though this subreddit's RSS feed is piped directly into our team Slack and we all really do read everything, people won't know that we're listening and acting on their feedback." The last paragraph mentions how Brian wants to be more active in communication and how he will post some questions he has seen on the @ingress.com Bluesky account.
