In recognition of the longstanding commitment of Australia to the fight to #EndPolio, we presented the Rotary Polio Eradication Champion Award to the Hon. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, which was received on his behalf by the Hon. Minister of Health and Ageing Mark Butler.

Rotary recently recognized HRH Grand Duc Henri for his lifetime of service and his personal collaboration with Rotary in Luxembourg to #EndPolio. We are closer to a polio free world thanks to his dedicated commitment.

In Benin, a school wall has become a canvas of hope 🎨 Rotary members from Benin, Niger & Togo introduced a 150m² mural, a living story inspired by Benin’s rich culture. Created by local painters, the artwork helps raise awareness about our work to #EndPolio.

Where history meets hope! Last week, GPEI partners & supporters gathered for a #WorldPolioDay event on Roosevelt Island, NY, near the smallpox hospital ruins. Together, we honored the progress made & renewed our commitment to make polio the second human disease to be eradicated!

Vivi Ebert was going to die.

In 1952 in Copenhagen, hospitals were full, iron lungs were scarce, and hope was fading. But one doctor refused to give up...and what happened next not only saved Vivi’s life, it changed medicine forever.

10 years ago, Diana Maria Pirga learned about Rotary’s fight to #EndPolio at a Rotaract event. Today, she helps fight it online and in the field as a UNICEF digital comms specialist in Pakistan. For her, it’s more than a cause...it’s a calling ♥️

We join the world in remembering renowned conservationist Jane Goodall. Along with her passion for chimpanzees & the environment, Jane was also a supporter of polio eradication. In 2010, Jane joined Rotary's "This Close" #EndPolio campaign. Our thoughts are with all who knew her.

Thanks to the dedication of polio workers and the lifesaving vaccine nOPV2, variant polio cases dropped by over 75% since 2020. But the fight isn’t over – every child needs protection. Let’s reach every child to #EndPolio everywhere.

In April 2025, ten Rotary members from France🇫🇷 and Belgium🇧🇪 saw firsthand the strong commitment of the frontline health workers in Pakistan where they participated in a large-scale polio immunization campaign.
