Today while working at the college, I was helping a student who wanted a “retro” look to his film. I stuck a random miniDV tape in an old XL2, and it turned out to be a tape I’d used for filming while I was a student back in the year 2000.

The entrance to the cove at the foot of Tintagel Castle.

Tintagel castle was identified as the birthplace of King Arthur by antiquary William Worcestre in 1480, and while Arthur’s existence is still debated, the name Arthur’s Castle is still frequently applied to the structure.

Found out today that I have passed my MA in Film & Television at Falmouth University with distinction. Couldn’t be happier.

Thanks to Lacey for the excellent celebratory Jurassic Park cake and Chauncey for his moral support during the sleepless nights. 🍾

Next Up: PhD. 😬

Working on a new video essay outlining my thoughts on the insidious manner in which technology has upended all aspects of society post-covid, and frankly, why I’m sick of pretending it’s for the better.

Less of an essay and more of a rant with Harvard referencing, tbh. 👍

Please find attached a copy of my video essay for Falmouth University, 'The Old Ways: Analogue & the modern Folk Horror'.

It might be of interest to anyone curious about analogue film, folk horror, or 1970s Britian...then again, It might not. 🤷‍♂️

Took a short break from working on my MA Final Major Project to shoot this short video showcasing some locations from The Wicker Man.

Fair warning: the video was shot and edited on iPhone, and my tour guide skills may require some refinement.
