The millennium bug certainly didn't amount to much.

Like even in the 1990s I knew what the 70s or 80s were about, so I suspect absence rather than time is the issue with the 2000s.

But what of the 2000s? I was having such a fab time living in Tokyo that who even knows? 'post-punk' or 'freak folk' don't feel like the right themes...

The 2010s COULD have an 'occupy' or 'cancel' or 'me too' vibe perhaps?

Caveat: looking at this from the Western perspective that I am familiar with.

Is it an early-in-the-century thing? I don't have much sense of the 1900s or 1910s but perhaps it's just too long ago, or limited public record?
