the open world + main story npc animations sell the promise of first person digital immersive theater in a way unlike any other game i've played. realistically sized/detailed spaces, bodies and movements do so much

silksong is too hard. i prefer baby steps which is an easy game because you can't die or even lose multiple pips of health

at this point i can't even be mad at people who are disappointed because, yeah, this is a different game that straight up doesn't offer some of what people want out of hollow knight. silksong's not impossibly hard, but it's definitely for the freaks

yes, the bosses are actually *fun* now! i feel like people aren't just responding to difficulty, but to a perceived genre shift. HK was a survival-exploration game in which you could tank through most fights and then return to quiet exploration. silksong is an action-platformer through and through
