we used to visit the Little Farmer in Malone, Wisconsin, every Columbus Day weekend 🍎
it grew so big over the years, but one of the things I’ve never forgotten are their
walnut cranberry pies, and how much our poodle loved them😅

i’ve been up since early rolling out yufka for my Turkish Sourdough Borek class.

the dough was sticky and it resists at first, but eventually it stretches and blooms exactly as it should, and you realize it was simple all along.

this one’s an old-fashioned date walnut bread,
updated with organic Janie’s Mill flour, farm eggs, organic butter and sugar, and a touch of sourdough discard.
deep, nutty, caramel-rich, not too sweet, just right with a swipe of cream cheese 😋
