You inspired me to google Terry "fat tub of goo" Forster. To this, I am pleased to submit that he is still among us. Fun fact: Forster batted .526 in 1972 but did not amass enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title.

Bob Gibson won 3 World Series games in 1967, and Mickey Lolich matched that feat the following year. The Padres, for their part, have won but one World Series game since the time that man first walked on the moon.

In 1969 Harmon Killebrew had 78 RBIs in 258 at bats while hitting at home games and, yes, he accomplished this outstanding feat without involving himself with any illicit substances.

Perry as the starter in game 161 or 162? Yep, game 161. The manager could have simply said that he didn't want a lefty starting in Fenway. But, hey, if Perry had indeed won that game the hearts of many writers/poets in the New England area would have been effectively broken.

Indeed, the people of this state must be eternally grateful that the profoundly proud Pohlad family has blessed us with, yep, multiple world championship teams!

Um, the Dominican--the one tough Dominican--defeated the Brewers in Game 7 of the 1982 World Series.

I would suspect that another set of separate lanes for those fellow Minnesotans adept with unicycles might irretrievably push Reusse over the, yep, edge.

I am beginning to hate the human element of baseball as it applies to flesh-and-blood umpires.
