Breaking some radio silence to show a diagram I’ve been working on that visually represents the process of non-philosophy. There’s a lot of work to clean up here, but it’s a start.

Next term, I’m pairing Miéville’s The City and The City with Kafka’s The Trial, Walter Mosley’s Devil in a Blue Dress, Dick’s DADES, and Calvino’s Invisible Cities (with some of his selected short stories).

The incoherence of alt-right political positions - to simultaneously hold identifiable fascist and loosely principled anti-fascist values for aggressive ahumanistic tendencies - renders any possible post-Trump coalition building a paper tiger.

The opening line of A Biography of Ordinary Man inspires this study: "On a raison de se révolter contre les philosophes," it is right to rebel against philosophers. Join to discuss introductory work, texts from Philosophie I, the invention of human philosophy, and first science.

Two years ago I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation, "The Cave and the Stars: On the People and Democracy of Non-Philosophy," and I am hopeful to turn it into a book in due time in the next few months. You can read it here: ir.lib.uwo.ca/cgi/viewcont...

In Tétralogos, Laruelle introduces what he calls an akouphenomenology (echo/acoustic phenomenology) to deprioritize vision over the lived experience of incarnation with hearing and other senses heightened by music, including touch with rhythmic percussion.

I think I’ve cooked up my next research project and giving up making my dissertation into a book. Instead, I’m taking some of the premises of chapters 3 and 4 of the dissertation and boiling it down to one unifying argument: is a critique of natality as the prejudice of all philosophy possible?

Perhaps I’m too optimistic in thinking that my translation of Theory of Strangers will bring some change to the existing anglophone reception. I’m hopeful that it does because I am getting tired of the stamping of ‘non-standard’ everywhere.
