I think about things. Interdisciplinary computer/social scientist, mostly data, anthropology, ethics, language. Intersex.
I never watched friends either, but I'm sure it was around before that 😅

the first time I heard this as a verb was in the mid 2000s, but it was around as a noun for at least a decade before that

presumably there is some nuance in that some people will think Englishness should not be ethnically defined, but that it is, or that it should be, but that it isn't

I somehow doubt that the chronically ableist and transphobic Streeting has the moral clout to move society to be less racist.

hello, computer scientist here

basically every computer has a tiny gnome that operates a really complex signaling system that tells all the little ones and zeros where to go

the gnome is paid in bit coin

oh no worries! Just wanted to clarify

no but it's pretty metal

This isn't really my area of interest or expertise, but I didn't interpret the OP as saying anything about "growth and prosperity for the whole country". Your point is valid, just not relevant.
November 13, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Pubs and restaurants aren't worth supporting because they have "growth potential". They're worth supporting because they are essential to communities and make this country a nice place to live in.
November 13, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Yes, I understand that, and I agree.
November 13, 2025 at 5:08 PM
I think you're imparting on me views which I do not hold, and assuming consequences of my argument which don't necessarily follow. Supporting strikes should not demand some liberal ideological purism where we're not allowed to critique the system that gets us into thess messes.

I don't agree with that at all. I grew up in a working class state where lots of people ended up working at Starbucks who would have gladly worked somewhere else if similar opportunities were available. Just because your work has value, doesn't mean your company does.
November 13, 2025 at 2:50 PM
I fundamentally agree, but I also think the broader systematic perspective has value, and it's not always from a position of sanctimoniousness
November 13, 2025 at 2:40 PM
idk, maybe people are subtweeting (subskeeting?) that better alternatives are available and coffee monopolization is part of the greed pie that makes people strike in the first place

I'm not one of these people, just theorizing
