Here now, apparently.
It wasn't the officer's mess with Tiramisu - it was the airmen's. (Now called aviators because airmen is sexist, yet we're all just meant to accept male gendered nouns are neutral. Don't see why it couldn't be the aviatrix mess and RAAFies just suffer it while eating tiramisu with a parfait spoon).

They're surely going to absorb some of the ousted weebil votes. Poor weebil...

Nevermind. We'll do our own version in the living room for the parents at Christmas...

Well you shoulda had the lights fail a week ago when Marcus was in Germany. That's just poor planning on your part...

Oh! I just figured autocorrect was at it again 😂. My bad! That said, I imagine Amazon do have the lights cheaper...
April 7, 2025 at 6:52 AM
I've actually not bought anything off Amazon (well not since the whole Amazon UK blocked selling books directly to Aus thing a decade or so ago). Ignorance of Amazon pricing is probably for the best in my case...😅

Have you tried aquariumspareparts.com.au ? I've found their lighting prices reasonably competitive.

No worries! The Fluval has similar quirks, but given it's smaller, thought you might be in with a (temporary) chance. It does have an oddly placed controller though (which I imagine is by design so it only neatly fits the Fluval tank lid).

I've got a spare Fluval LED (blue/white, roughly 54cm long) if you need something to get you through. Needs a power supply, but Jaycar have them.

Well you'd hope they've done some numbers on that... 🤷

Define cohort? You realise not everyone in the ADF and depts like DSTG are right wing, right?

I remember when Nanna, who was at least in her mid-80s won an open golf tournament and unhappy with the praise, commented that she only won because she'd outlived all the real competition and all the new people coming up were more interested in their flashy golf gear than skill. 🤣

🤣 You know kangaroos are still scared to come within 50m of me after I asked Dad for one's skull as a 4yo...

I defy you to find a better roo nutsack pouch made elsewhere! I'm not sure they're ever needed and I'm always surprised that there's enough demand to actually make these, but I'd have so many more questions if they were being made elsewhere...

"Grandpa, why was Australia fighting a war in Europe?"
"Well, it's all got to do with being a member of the European broadcasting union, and that channel that's all rude stuff and Hitler was a member of something. Would you like to hear how WW1 started, it might be simpler?"

Ha! "Coked out of your gourd" is an excellent phrase. I had a student ask what a gourd was last week. Thankfully, that was not the sentence example I provided.

Or even just how to hold one without it shouting the name of the tool repeatedly. I now assume he does this with all tools: "Orbital sander wooooo! ORBITAL SANDER!!!"

Thank you! I specifically opened the comments to make sure someone had posted that clip.

I know parents who've been warned about departmental involvement because the number of days away on holiday was excessive: right of a child to an education beats right of a child to trips to Fiji and Bali. Admittedly, this family were away constantly. But yeah, let's not give the states ideas...
January 30, 2025 at 9:46 AM
I mean, there are very much still fines for truancy here (and family holidays aren't necessarily exempt), it's just that it's a state issue, not an individual school issue (though the school is obviously the one to report it). I bet if the schools could fine and keep the money, twould be rife here!

🤣 It was old, I'll give you that. It was maybe the size of Brodie's tea chest. Which you'll agree, is a perfectly reasonable unit of measurement. I genuinely can't think of anything else that side as standard

Bro, nearly 20 years ago you had the opportunity to take either or both of his welders, where is you foresight?! J/k. The mig went to his work mate. I can't recall what I did with the arc 🤔
