I just rewatched ‘V for Vendetta’ for the umpteenth time. Today it felt more cautionary and relevant than ever. “People shouldn’t be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people”.

So this, moving from North to South, tracked across the sky in my Oxfordshire home yesterday evening. The news says it was a rocket launch. My Nightsky app said it was Intercosmos 24, launched by Russia in 1989. Weird, unsettling and exciting!

We actually had some sunshine today in Oxfordshire. This is the view from my sitting room doors after breakfast. What a relief to feel the simple pleasure of light bouncing off beautiful Autumn colours, to balance the existential dread and spiritual exhaustion. I needed this.
