Reasons to work with a beta reader: Heighten your prose! There’s always room for more dramatic phrasing. Pair down the wordy sentence to something pithy. Add to the stakes.

Is this probably over dramatic? Sure. Do I like my JayVik that way? 1000%

Jayce sounded impossibly distant when he broke the silence, "So I knew you'd had the chest surgery." Evidently the man of Progress had gotten a few words sorted out well enough to tentatively hedge towards asking questions. Viktor was used to people being curious about his body, but when it came to Jayce, be was having a hard time not reading into his interest, no matter how many times he repeated ‘wishful thinking only sets you up for disappointment’ in his mind. "Right." Viktor rested most of his weight on his good leg and where his low back curved over the edge of the counter as he methodically released each strap that clamped his leg brace onto his body. "But down there...?" Jayce sounded like he was raking himself over the coals to get these words out. They hung in the air, clearly a question he still didn't know how to ask respectfully. "Some minor modifications," Viktor smiled smugly to himself as he deftly slid the brace down his leg, catching the top strap on his flexed foot, "but I still have a cunt, if that's what you're wondering," continuing silently, ‘apparently it's still self lubricating, only at the least opportune times, evidently.’ The only reply was a strangled sounding "Ah," from Jayce.

I am inclined to believe he means a unique phenomenon, such as a unique “wild rune”, but it could also be a quirk in the Arcane.
