A bunch of losers went out and threw Nazi salutes in Alberta, Canada yesterday while holding racist signs.

Might be time for the media to stop calling them “hand gestures” and start reporting on this big fucking problem for what it is!

A snapshot of Berlin tonight.
Berlin tonight felt like a snapshot of the city in flux. I went to the middle of town to meet a dear friend: on the way, I saw a homeless man being harassed by a drunk man until two of the drunk man’s friends pulled him away. He said I am okay, I am okay. I met my friend in a restaurant and a group of Nazis (hairs shaved short back and sizes with the front of their hair swept to the right, sweatshirts emblazoned with the logos of far-right clothing brands) were having a happy night out three tables away. My friend was horrified to hear about the harassment of the homeless man; on my way home we went to check in on him, and as we walked over we were overtaken by a group of locals who were carrying him a huge tub of hot food for dinner. They smiled at us as they walked back to their van, which was full of similar tubs they were delivering around town. On the way home I saw vast billboards by the Greens and by the far-right (calling for “Kampf”, or struggle, in a not-so-subtle nod to Hitler), and a Free Palestine sticker (not defaced). That was and is the middle of Berlin, I wonder what it will become.
