Of teaching is often thought the more it's broken down into discrete, familiar steps, the greater student success. But I think a sense of wonder, an encounter with overwhelming otherness is necessary. Learning needs to cast a line of sight, open a horizon, trace a serpentine path.
Thinking about order, knowledge, experience, and technology as “arrangement” with students today. What better way to start than with disorder!

Bio post? Im a phd student in literary studies working on 20th century historiographies of rationalism, semiotics, and literary theory. Interested in the history of abstraction, formalism, structure, materialism, and vitalism. I also wrote my masters thesis on hegel’s logic and the gothic.
